Experience

Dr. Ruoqian Lin is currently a technologist in Electrochemical Research, Technology, & Engineering Group of JPL. Her current research is focused on developing new energy storage materials and architectures for next-generation rechargeable batteries, including Li-ion batteries and multi-valent ion/metal batteries. Dr. Lin has strong research background in understanding fundamental material sciences in Li-ion and beyond Li-ion batteries by utilizing state-of-the-art characterization techniques, such as transmission electron microscopy and synchrotron techniques. Dr. Ruoqian Lin obtained her Ph.D in Material Sciences and Engineering from Stony Brook University in 2018. Before joining JPL, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Brookhaven National Laboratory, actively working for the DOE Battery500 Consortium. She is awarded the Battery 500 Young Investigator Award by the Battery500 Consortium in 2019 and the Presidential Student Award by Microscopy Society of America in 2016. Dr. Lin’s research has resulted in more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, she is the leading author for three publications in Nature Energy and Nature Communications.
